Fitzgerald Murraine

Fitzgerald Murraine has over 15 years experience as an Attorney, Paralegal, and Contract Compliance Supervisor in various areas, including business law; mortgage, employment and housing discrimination; probate law; personal injury; social security and workers compensation; small business development; and government contract procurement. He is licensed to practice law in the States of Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He attended Charlotte Amalie High School in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University in Washington D.C.; and graduated from the University Of Baltimore School Of Law.

From 1994 through 1996, Mr. Murraine worked as civil litigation attorney in the State of Maryland, and simultaneously served in a consulting capacity as an Mortgage lending, Employment and Housing Discrimination Claims Examiner with the Prince George's County government. Prior to those endeavors, he served for fourteen (14) years with the Wash D.C. Protection and Advocacy (P&A)-- first as a Paralegal; then as a Supervisor of two federal legal services projects and, then as a Staff Attorney until 1996.

Since November 1997, he has served as the Supervisor of Compliance for the City of Dayton's Procurement Enhancement Program and Civil Rights Programs. In this capacity, Mr. Murraine ensures that the city government complies with Federal, State, and City laws and policies governing the awarding of contracts to minority, female and small/disadvantaged business enterprises in goods and services commodities and construction trades. Mr. Murraine is versed in federal and state procurement laws, and has drafted federal DBE Programs pursuant to 49 CFR Part 26, as well as other matters relating to equitable procurement, such as disparity studies, etc. Mr. Murraine also works to ensure that minority and small businesses and contractors are provided a wide array of technical and managerial business assistance through a State Grant. He also supervises the investigation and resolution of cases involving discrimination in employment, fair housing, public accommodations, and credit transactions.

Mr. Murraine is a licensed attorney in the State of Ohio and provides private legal assistance in the areas of business incorporation and transactions, probate, domestic relations, school law, and personal injury. Mr. Murraine also serves as Trustee and board member for several organizations, including Big Brothers, the New City School, the United Theological Seminary, the United Methodist Board of Trustees, St. Margaret's Community Development Corporation, Keepers of the Village Development Corporation, and Wright Dunbar Technology Academy.
